Refugees

The Chaplaincy Team worked with our link Governor today.  She spoke to the children about the work that she does with the refugees in our community and the children were encouraged to discuss hown they could go about making these people feel welcome.  They role played their ideas of how they could welcome refugees in our school and made posters to share their ideas of being a welcoming school.  They were encouraged to think about what Jesus would do and made links with their own lives.

Following this, they decided to take action and organised a food donation in school for refugees in our community and other people who may need our support.  They made posters and put them up around school.

The group were delighted with the response from their friends.  They personally delivered some of the donations to the food bank and took the rest to church for the refugees.

We would love to hear from you
